Now I just need Wolf Parade to start touring again

On Sunday I went to Bowery Ballroom (which I would like a lot more if it weren't usually packed with drunk hipsters that aren't into the band playing) and I saw the Handsome Furs. I love that band (it's my favorite of the Wolf Parade offshoots), but the music (which consists of Dan Boeckner on guitar and Alexei Perry on synth) is tricky to pull off live. But, as stated, I love it, I know Plague Park like the back of my hand, so it was great. If you'd never heard the music before, you might enjoy it less.

Although, that's probably not true either, because they both clearly love to rock out onstage. Alexei looked like she was doing an elaborate modern dance while playing the synth with one hand. Can't describe it.

Also, it should be noted, that they are the only band whose relationship status (they're married now) isn't annoying or in your face at all. It's just sort of curious. Like the Jack and Meg White Stripes marriage or siblings mystery from a few years ago. But less creepy than that was. Thank God that was sorted out.

I actually couldn't disagree more. Their live set is much lively and shows more passion than their studio album. There is more chemistry and energy. Plague Park was a good, but melancholy album overall. There is more too it than the album reveals. The live set shows more of the anger and ups and downs. That's just my opinion. Go check them out and judge for yourself.

Dude, I'm raving about this concert. It's amazing. But I'll never know what it'd be like to listen to them having never heard the album-- part of what I loved about this concert is hearing the tame, and, yes, melancholy album simmering beneath the crazy, energetic show the Furs put on.
